Miss India Kanishtha Dhankar makes a splash at Cannes

Kanishtha Dhankar, unlike other Indian damsels, took traditional Indian flavour to Cannes. Her elegant ensemble created by Sabyasachi had zari work in gold, but what looked outstanding in the whole attire was the way her voile dupatta in nude shade was draped. She completed her traditionally sensuous look with the use of dozens of gold and black bangles and a hanging pendant (mang tika) on the forehead. The artist designer Sabyasachi once again used black for the marvelous dress, and made the colour look royal on the red carpet.

Earlier it was reported that Kanishtha will look like an Indian princess, and she indeed looked the way it was described. Before leaving for Cannes she was quoted as saying, “I had many plans for this year but not even in my wildest dreams had I thought that I will be walking the Cannes red carpet. I feel lucky and blessed.”

But we did miss Rani Mukherjee who actually was supposed to walk the red carpet with Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Nevertheless, Kanishtha made for the loss. She is the first reigning Miss India to make an appearance at Cannes. The 22-year-old Mumbai girl is also preparing for her Miss World pageant.
